    Leidos is seeking a PART-TIME Certified Cost Estimator Engineer to support environmental projects across the U.S. Hours will vary each week (typically 15-30 hours), and work will be performed REMOTE, with occasional travel.

    Leidos is currently seeking a Cost Estimator to join our environmental consulting team. This is a great opportunity to be a part of an experienced consulting practice and apply your skills to support our consistently growing base of federal and commercial customers in the U.S. Our team of industry-leading NEPA planning and policy experts, biologists, cultural resources specialists, and climate scientists work on complex federal planning projects for most major federal customers nationwide.

    The Cost Estimator will provide cost estimation support for environmental assessments, remediation, and monitoring at sites impacted by chlorinated solvents, explosives, petroleum, PFAS, or other contaminants.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Develop basis of estimates for various work scopes, plans and specifications, permitting, writing reports, work plans, and other project and client documents.
    • Prepare pricing to support proposal efforts including engaging with vendors to obtain estimates.
    • Prepare cost estimates to support feasibility study and remedial design projects which may include remediation system design and construction, remediation system optimization, and remediation system maintenance and operation.
    • Conduct life cycle cost analyses to support clients with planning and budgeting.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering (civil, chemical, environmental, mechanical, geotechnical, or related field) and at least 10 years' experience in the environmental engineering field including relevant cost estimating experience.
    • Cost Estimating certification such as Certified Cost Estimator/Analyst (CCEA), Certified Cost Professional (CCP), Cost Estimating Professional (CEP), Certified Professional Estimator (CPE), or equivalent certification is required.
    • Ability to work independently, adapt to a changing work environment, have good problem-solving skills, solid communication skills, and strong self-initiative.
    • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Microsoft Project is required.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Proficiency with utilizing RACER cost estimating program and RSMeans data.
    • Experience with MCASES estimating system
    • Experience with creating Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs).
    • Professional Engineer (PE) license
    • 40-hour HAZWOPER health and safety training certificate (with an up-to-date 8-hr annual refresher course certification).
    • Experience with knowledge and cost estimation of remediation technologies and remediation systems.
    • Proficiency in field documentation, technical report writing, and analysis skills.
    • Prior fieldwork experience a plus.

    Pay Range:

    Pay Range $87, $157,450.00
