- Be a vital part of our growth journey as a Senior Development Underwriter based in our Birmingham branch.
- Utilize your expertise in property & casualty to underwrite new business and renewals.
- Support the Branch in meeting financial targets by offering top-notch service and driving new business submissions.
- Collaborate with various teams, internal/external partners, and contribute to the success of the Branch.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to help cultivate a dynamic team environment.
- Underwrite risks strategically to boost business growth and profitability.
- Make informed decisions within your authority and provide recommendations for complex accounts.
- Negotiate terms and conditions in line with underwriting guidelines.
- Implement underwriting strategies to achieve desired results.
- Manage the portfolio, ensuring quality, growth, and profitability.
- Collaborate with brokers, provide training, and support sales plans.
- Foster relationships across different business units and regions.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and support team goals.
- Engage in continuous learning and development opportunities.
- Support regional and product underwriting/sales activities.
- Perform other assigned duties.
- Degree education preferred.
- Proven experience in Underwriting with a focus on new business opportunities.
- Knowledge of the local insurance market and underwriting principles.
- Strong analytical, communication, and team collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel and Powerpoint.
- ACII qualification preferred.
- Prior experience in underwriting Property and Casualty classes.
- Hold a full and valid driving license.
