- Overall responsibility of standard cost accounting / inventory valuation.
- Monthly variance analysis (Material, Labor and Overhead), product line profitability.
- Engineering and development of new product standard costing.
- Annual review and refresh and standards costs.
- Lead weekly/monthly meetings with Plant Manager to discuss variances, Production KPI's, any other Plant/Production requirements.
- Analyze and reconcile inventory transactions for accuracy and completeness in support of monthly financial reporting.
- Calculate Inventory reserve monthly based on aging inventory.
- Work with supply chain to develop or better understand existing metrics and KPIs that influence financial performance.
- Review work order variances with the production team.
- Assists in the annual budgeting process.
- Assist month-end close journal entries of general ledger.
- Oversee the physical inventory program including monitoring and reporting the results of cycle and full counts.
- Performs special projects/analysis as needed.
- Analyze costs of materials, processes, and labor to determine opportunities and methods for reduction of production and inventory costs.
- Develop and/or update accounting and operational process and procedures documentation around the inventory management and costing processes.
- BA or BS in Accounting or Finance.
- 5-8+ years cost accounting experience required
- Extensive experience in manufacturing/plant environment, production routing, bill of material.
- Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment.
- Strong Excel skills, especially advanced financial modeling, and analytical techniques.
- Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- 5-8+ years cost accounting experience required
- Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently.
- Excellent analytical skills; strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Manage direct staff including scheduling, planning, assigning, and directing work as well as identifying and resolving problems.
- Oversee the physical inventory program including monitoring and reporting the results of cycle and full counts.

Position Summary
The Cost Accounting Manager will provide accounting support to the operations of the business as well as financial management. This individual will be involved with projects within the financial management areas as well as providing financial support with the monthly and annual issuing of financial statements. This person may assist with projects to further automate the costing systems, to provide data that will allow daily analysis of variances and eliminate the manual recording of costing entries at the month-end.
