    Dentsply Sirona's Waltham, MA location is looking for someone to join our team as a CNC Machinist.

    This is a 2nd shift position and is scheduled to work Monday through Friday from 1:30 pm - 10:00 pm.

    SCOPE


    The CNC Machinist will use automated, semi-automated, and/or manual processes within the Titanium Machining work center to produce the Atlantis custom abutment from raw material.


    This position is responsible for the operation of CNC machines such as 3-Axis VMCs and 5-Axis Mill-Turn machines in order to consistently produce components of the highest quality for use in restorative implant dentistry.

    This position can be tasked with any aspect(s) of the production machining process, including but not limited to running machines, secondary operations, in-process and final inspection, machining process control, tool changes, and general maintenance.


    The position will adhere with all stated company polices, rules and procedures relating but not limited to Quality, Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) which the role has responsibility.


    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Manufacture products using detailed instructions in full compliance with all FDA regulations and ISO & Quality requirements, in conjunction with all internal policies.

    Comply by all standard SOP and Safety procedures.
    Run multiple CNC machines simultaneously as required.
    Deburr and inspect parts for conformance to specifications.
    Detect product non-conformances, identify cause, and make necessary adjustments or changes to correct.
    Interact (extensively) with production software for all aspects of record-keeping, job assignments and material information.
    Participate in Lean process improvement activities including idea generation, root-cause analysis and solution implementation. Responsibilities could include leading Lean manufacturing project teams.
    Maintain the work-center in accordance with established 5S principles.
    Perform and document basic preventative maintenance on equipment according to schedule.
    Support validation and NPI activities as required.
    Develop skills and knowledge required of position through training.
    Interact with co-workers, employees in other departments, managers, and support engineers as needed.
    Proactively seek additional tasks as conditions warrant.
    Other duties within competencies as assigned by manager (cross departmental activities may apply).

    Works closely with Production Control work centers
    Design
    AS
    Zirconia
    Activities may include building and maintaining relations with external suppliers
    May work with Product and/or Process Development groups as required

    Education/Experience
    High School diploma or equivalent
    3+ years of experience operating CNC milling equipment independently in a fast-paced production environment preferred. 4-5 Axis experience a plus.


    Qualifications:
    Excellent attention to detail.
    Able to work with a minimum of supervision.
    Must have good manual dexterity and the ability to work with small precision parts under a microscope.
    Able to perform accurate measurements using precision measuring instruments.
    Must be methodical and adhere to good documentation practices.
    Computer literate. Able to use standard computer applications and interact with a computer for data entry and other reasons.
    Willing and able to follow company procedures and quality system regulation.
    Read, write and speak in fluent English.
    Ability to work in a fast-paced team-oriented, collaborative environment.

    Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and able to deal with frequent change or unexpected events.

    Must have a high level of professionalism.
    Ability to work unscheduled overtime required, at times.
