Job summary
The Information Technology (IT) Technical Support series describes work in the support of technical issues related to the use of our clients IT devices, systems and services.This is entry-level technical work in the provision of routine technical assistance to users of commonwealth IT devices systems and services; and in the installation operation and maintenance of IT hardware software peripheral devices.
An employee in this job provides routine workstation user support services based on established standards guidelines Work involves receiving calls for assistance; documenting problems diagnosing troubleshooting resolving routine hardware software problems Work includes setting up installing personal computers PCs associated peripheral hardware printers scanners desktop hardware components installing configuring operating systems applications other software PCs peripheral hardware
- Work is differentiated from lower level job based on responsibility independently diagnosing troubleshooting resolving routine user support issues with hardware software peripheral devices connectivity independently setting up workstation equipment standard configurations
- Troubleshoots wide range range routine user issues with hardware software peripheral security connectivity established guidelines
