- Coordinates rooms/schedules/staffing to complement patient care needs. Assists with staffing needs and work schedules. Demonstrates the ability to meet the department work schedule.

- Evaluates sonograms for technical quality.
- Understands correct machine settings to produce accurate appearing images.
- Performs equipment calibrations and adjustments.
- Selects technical factors and imaging modes. Informs supervisor or calls for service in absence of supervisor when needed.
- Helps with staff education/in-services/specialized skilled training programs. Assists in the hiring and orientation program of newly-hired staff.
- Creates an environment that promotes staff empowerment. Displays creativity and innovation when making recommendations for improvement in the delivery of services to the hospital. Instructs and helps lead the staff so that a high level of productivity is maintained, intervening when necessary, to problem solve.

- Contributes to the maintenance of high quality, cost-effective services consistent with the needs of the users and the hospital's budgetary guidelines. - Assists with evaluating and guiding coworkers with appropriate input of job performance. Provides immediate feedback (positive and negative) about job performance to personnel on team. Provides input to director on performance evaluations.

- Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position.

- Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year.
- Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of hospital administrative staff. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance.
