    Microsoft Silicon Cloud Hardware Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) is the team behind Microsoft's expanding Cloud Infrastructure and responsible for powering Microsoft's "Intelligent Cloud" mission. SCHIE delivers the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Skype, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform globally with our server and data center infrastructure, security and compliance, operations, globalization, and manageability solutions.     We are looking for a Cloud Network Engineer professional to join a growing Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) team embedded within Microsoft's SCHIE engineering team. The Network Engineer will be part of a dynamic engineering infrastructure team. This Network Engineer will have primary responsibilities overseeing the network infrastructure connecting our hardware validation labs with cloud services and related engineering systems.     Qualifications

    Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field AND 4+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation. OR Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation. OR Doctorate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 4+ years of Network Administration experience plus 2+ years of system automation experience using scripting languages such as Shell, PowerShell, Perl, or Python.
  • 4+ years of experience in systems administration and monitoring.
  • Other Requirements:

    Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of fundamental statistics.
  • 1+ year(s) experience delivering network designs into production and experience with live site accountability for a network.
  • Understanding of engineering concepts.
  • Cloud Network Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
