    Description

    Overview:

    The Project Manager is responsible for managing committee and work group activities. Maintain an awareness of and report on ethics issues requiring ACOG attention and policy development. Provide support and planning of meetings and orientation, and management of special projects. Network and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Make independent judgments to assess, interpret, and respond to the needs of the committee members.

    Serve as primary staff to the Committee on Ethics and the Ethics Document Review Panel.
    Manage the development of Ethics Committee Statements through application of editorial, medical writing, and project-management expertise.
    Assist Committee authors in the development of outlines and drafts; ensure consistency with ACOGs Code of Professional Ethics and clinical guidance; and lead documents through peer review and the publications process.
    Oversee ACOGs review of externally developed ethics documents for potential support/endorsement. Coordinate with other staff on related ACOG documents, eg, Clinical Consensus and Clinical Practice Guidelines.
    Develop and update the committee workplan and manage new topic selection in collaboration with leadership.
    Develop and ensure adherence to committee budget.
    Oversee ethics-related liaison relationships with external stakeholder and member organizations.
    Manage committee meetings in coordination with committee Chair, ACOG leadership, and internal stakeholders. Develop agenda and background material on subjects requiring committee action, and topic sessions. Oversee development of meeting minutes and ensure meeting follow-up.
    Manage new member nomination and orientation for the Ethics Committee and Ethics Document Review Panel.
    Manage development and implementation of special projects, such as Division Expert Work Groups, grant-funded initiatives, and short-term strategic projects. Ensure the work activity is integrated into and reflective of related initiatives throughout the division and ACOG in conjunction with other division staff.
    Seek sources of funding support and develop grant proposals for special projects.
    Provide editorial support for the development of Practice Division documents:
    Edit division and clinical document manuscripts for organization, style, grammar, formatting and internal consistency before submission for publication.
    Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    UWork Qualifications.
    Bachelors degree required; Masters preferred.
    5 years of experience in related work including medical writing and editing and project management, preferably in womens health.
    Excellent writing, editorial, and proofreading skills; knowledge of medical terminology required.
    Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
    Demonstrated ability to set own priorities, work independently, and show good judgment.
    Flexibility to work on several projects at once.
    Knowledge of computers, including Windows, Office applications, and Adobe Acrobat
    Exceptional attention to detail; and ability to meet deadlines and to handle a diverse workload.
    Experience working with professional organizations preferred.
