JOB SUMMARYUnder general supervision of the Principal or Head Custodian, keeps assigned rooms, areas of buildings, or office spaces clean, sanitary, safe, and orderly; performs other work as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THIS POSITION May include, but not limited to:1.Working from oral and written instructions and assignments 2.Sweep, scrub, mop, wax, or buff floors or other building surfaces with hand tools and/or machines 3.Vacuum rugs and carpets 4.Dust and polish furniture and woodwork5.Empty and clean waste receptacles 6.Remove cobwebs7.Clean blackboards, windows, mirrors, and walls8.Scrub, clean, and disinfect restrooms, shower rooms, and locker rooms and fills soap and paper dispensers9.
Polish metal work10.Assist in moving and arranging furniture and equipment11.Clean and adjust desks and other furniture12.Set up buildings and rooms for meetings and special events13.Replace lights14.Adjust shades and blinds15.Scrape and refinish floors16.Perform minor painting and minor repairs on furniture, equipment and facilities17.Pick up paper on grounds and walks18.Unlock and lock doors to buildings19.Raise or lower flag20.Perform routine grounds keeping duties21.Assist in restoration of buildings and grounds during school vacation22.Help unload merchandise received at schools or District office23.Supervise work of student assistants24.Report unsafe conditions25.
Perform, as directed, other duties consistent with the general areas of responsibility surrounding the job descriptionREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge and Application of:
Methods of cleaning and preserving floors, walls, and fixtures; cleaning materials, disinfectants and equipment used in custodial work; common hand tools and machines
Ability to:

High school diploma or GED required One year of work experience, preferably including some custodial or janitorial work
Salary Level:
3- Classified Salary ScheduleRequirements / QualificationsEscalon High School Monday-Friday, 8 hrs per day 2 p.m. - 10 p.m. 12-month position Hours may vary during non-student days. Current EUSD employees, please submit a letter of interest to Cindy Sipes at the District Office.
