- Manages development and delivery of non-standard products, systems and integrated solutions packages.
- Lead CAD and engineering design and development in the area of engineered special gensets, enclosures, options, and accessories and manage this through the engineering release process.
- Accountable for standardizing, simplifying and modularizing non-standard components and systems to minimize operations complexity.
- Responds with flexibility, openness, and due diligence in tailoring products for solutions packages but also steers towards existing solutions that meet the customer requirements.
- Provides highly technical support for non-standard Distributor and Direct to Customer sales,
- Understands the Codes and Standards related to Generator Sets and keeps abreast of the trends impacting Codes and Standards in the market, such as emissions, UL, wind load and seismic.
- Communicates with Technical Solutions Engineering and Sales Engineers to verify product specifications are being met
- Coordinates with Design Engineering Platform Leads on integrating non-standard systems into the standard product offering, as data supports.
- Coordinates with Quality and Project Management on the technical resolution of warranty and service issues for systems and products originating from the Industrial Solutions Team.
- Interfaces with Accounting, Project Management and Sales Departments with regard to support pricing and project gross margin targets.
- Develops and maintains technical literature, DFMEA and DVP&R for systems and/or products quoted through the Industrial Solutions Team.
- Select and work with third party suppliers that have design and manufacturing expertise on product that is outside the core product and competency of KPS and coordinate with Procurement regarding new supplier selection.
- Prioritize custom engineering orders within the mechanical and electrical ES team and assure alignment with Sales and Project Management teams.
- Coordinate and Prioritize engineering work with India Technical Center (ITC) and assure ITC team is following the best modeling practices and are meeting the quality standards and dates that have been established and agreed upon.
- Initiate and support continual improvement initiatives to streamline internal business processes and support systems upgrades. Actively seek out inefficiencies in the custom order process to pursue continuous improvement opportunities.
- Provide leadership to Industrial System team members and establish/maintain development plans with the team members.
- Support the sales teams' efforts to win projects and customers, which will occasionally require preparing and presenting technical presentations and white papers.
- Support the field service team on highly complex challenges at the customer site, providing technical solutions and troubleshooting recommendations
- Bachelor's Degree Engineering (BSEE or BSME from an ABET accredited institution). 8 years of power application experience
- Pursuit or completion of an MBA (Masters Business Administration) or MSEM (Masters Engineering Management) is a plus
- Strong personal characteristics are mandatory in the areas of leadership, organization, technical aptitude, curious and pragmatic mind-set, communication, attitude, initiative, and follow-up.

Opportunity
Provide leadership and develop functional excellence for the Industrial Solutions Engineering design team that is responsible for developing Generator Set Engineered Special (ES) designs.
This group is responsible for design and manufacturability of non-standard product, systems and integrated solutions engineering for Direct to Customer and Distributor led projects.
They have the responsibility for supporting highly technical pre-sales requests, support quote and project timeline requests, provide technical guidance on special product requests from distributors and direct customers.
The team is also responsible for supporting highly technical questions that are routed through the service channel and require expert level support.
This team is expected to be technically competent in generator set, enclosure and subbase tanks, emissions trends, generator codes and standards, generator set performance requirements, installation/application and is capable of project managing the engineering team's development efforts.
