    Description

    Job Title: Custodian at [Company Name]


    The Custodian is responsible for carrying out custodial tasks at the designated job site, including general cleaning of restrooms, offices, cafeteria, sales floor, among other areas as assigned. Tasks involve buffing, scrubbing, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and operating equipment like scrubbers, extractors, and buffers.


    Expectations for Satisfactory Job Performance:


    • Follows directives from Lead Custodian or Supervisor
    • Utilizes floor machines for various cleaning purposes safely
    • Adheres to safety and company guidelines
    • Complies with company policies on safety, customer service, attire, and working hours
    • Completes assignments as per schedule and customer expectations
    • Wears required uniform at work sites
    • Performs custodial tasks based on provided guidelines
    • May work varied shifts including nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays
    • Follows both oral and written instructions
    • Works effectively both independently and in a team
    • Participates in training and safety meetings

    Education and Certifications:


    Preferably a high school diploma or equivalent with 1–2 years of experience in custodial, janitorial, or cleaning services.

    • Basic understanding of custodial and janitorial duties
    • Knowledge of cleaning equipment and techniques
    • Experience in sanitizing and cleaning washrooms
    • Importance of workplace safety awareness
    • Ability to follow directions and safety protocols
    • Literacy in understanding product labels
    • Maintenance of janitorial equipment

    Preferred Skills:

    • Organizational skills for janitorial closets

    Essential Functions:

    • English language proficiency
    • Physical ability to handle heavy objects up to 50 pounds
    • Engagement in daily physical tasks
    • Operation of small power tools
    • Flexible physical capabilities
    • Ability to work independently and in challenging environments
    • Consistent attendance
    • Potential local travel; may need to undergo background screening
