    Description

    Transportation Security Officers are responsible for providing security and protection of travelers across all transportation sectors in a courteous and professional manner. Their duties may also extend to securing high-profile events, important figures and/or anything that includes or impacts our transportation systems.

    Duties

    • Operate various screening equipment and technology to identify dangerous objects in baggage, cargo and on passengers, and prevent those objects from being transported onto aircraft.
    • Perform searches and screenings which may include physical interaction with passengers (e.g., pat-downs, search of property etc.), conduct bag searches and lift/carry bags bins weighing up to 50lbs.

    1. The salary range is $46,105-$56,844 or $22.09-$27.24 per hour including locality pay of 17.06 This position is located in Transportation Security Administration Department of Homeland Security (DHS)



      You must possess U.S citizenship or be a U.S national You must have reached the minimum age at time application Selective Service registration required Must pass structured interview drug screening medical evaluation background investigation Subject post-employment random drug alcohol testing Make yourself available work various shifts overtime needed Be proficient English e g reading writing speaking comprehending Mandatory travel training occasional travel required Exposure potentially lethal devices dangerous chemicals inherent this position Maintain meet maintain physical requirements an assessment abilities maintaining ability squat bend Ability repeatedly lift manipulate baggage containers up to lbs walk miles during shift stand prolonged periods hours The above met time application submission Additional requirements found Qualifications section If you fail meet conditions employment any other pre employment requirement such missing scheduled appointments hiring agency rescind their tentative offer employment TSA agency.
