    Position summary:

    Swiftly is a growing company and in search of the right person to extend our solutions via mobile and web technologies. The ideal candidate will build services using GitHub Actions and deploy to Kubernetes via docker images. Work will also involve extending the existing REST services and possibly adding new services and features.

    Responsibilities Include:

    • Influence and mentor more junior developers in an effort to continuously improve the tools, skills, and processes of the team
    • Contribute to the architecture of projects relating to a company's business structure and job assignment
    • Take ownership and responsibility for the delivery and quality of code your team produces
    • Work under minimal supervision and act independently, requiring a high level of judgment and interpretation to determine the best methods and procedures to make progress
    • Work as part of the technical team that designs, develops, implements, and maintains scalable cloud-based products
    • Work closely with other developers to ensure successful implementation of application services
    • Convert specifications and requirements into functional application code
    • Understand and adhere to industry best practices for delivering high-quality code
    • Break down projects into tasks with time estimation
    • Proactively identify and communicate issues
    • Work in a team environment with other developers, architects, designers, product managers
    • Other related duties as assigned

    Required Qualifications:

    • 3+ years of experience in software engineering
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
    • Prefer Test Driven Development (TDD) experience
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Demonstrated experience driving teams forward
    • Experience with Windows Azure, AWS or Google Cloud Platform
    • Strong knowledge of Kotlin
    • Experience with Ruby and Ruby On Rails
    • Experience with Quarkus or other web application frameworks
    • Experience with Kubernetes and Docker containerization
    • Knowledge of Redis (or similar caching services)
    • Understanding of SQL (postgres or mysql)
    • Version control with git on Github or DevOps
    • REST API design and use

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with Java
    • Mix of start-up and large-company experience
