Job DescriptionBusy multi-location pediatricians office is looking to hire multiple experienced Medical Assistant. 1-3 years experience is preferred. We are also willing to train M/A's who may have just graduated for this position. You must have reliable transportation as this position will require varying days at our SV and Henderson offices each week. This position is Monday through Friday with a varying work shift of 9 am- 6 pm and/or 8 am- 5 pm, and/or 8:30 am- 5:30 pm and/or 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, and will require working occasional Saturday(s) each month. Do not apply if you are not able to work a flexible schedule shift, and if you do not have reliable transportation to travel from one office to another. Also, when you are the closing MA, there will be evenings where you are at the office past 6 pm during our busy times. We tell all staff they must be available to be scheduled between the hours of 7 am to 7 pm Monday through Friday as they may be on multiple shifts during this time each week.
·Applicants must know:
o Must know VFC vaccines and requirements
o Must be familiar with private vaccines
o Must have EMR knowledge
o Must have Web IZ knowledge
o Must know all lab requirements
Job requirements include but are not limited to the below:
Completion with a passing grade from a Medical Assistant program accredited through CAAHEP, CMA (Certified Medical Assistant)
Exceptional oral communication skills
Ability to speak clearly.
Uses tact, discretion and sensitivity in dealing with patients.
Deals courteously and efficiently with physicians, insurance companies, patients, and others.
Written communication skills, such as good basic reading, writing, math and spelling skills.
Possesses good typing/word processing, filing, reception, and other general office skills.
Maintains CPR certification.
Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
Ability to use a stethoscope.
Knowledge of medications and injection procedures.
Minimum of two years work experience in a medical practice environment or related field is preferred.
Understanding and knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the scope of a Medical Assistant.
Has the ability to plan and accomplish goals by utilizing their education, skills, and judgment.
Must have user knowledge of technical skills and computers, and/or medical practice software systems
Must have working knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT-4 coding.
Ability to use discretion in handling confidential information.
