    Waterworks Controller (EM-08)$10,211/monthThis position serves as the Head of the Finance Division and administers the accounting, financial programs of the Board of Water Supply (BWS) as a semi-autonomous entity independent from the City and County of Honolulus fiscal programs; monitors the BWSs financial performance to ensure appropriate fiscal decisions are made, and ensures that the BWS accounting, financial programs incorporate industry best practices and innovative programs to create an efficient and effective organization that supports BWS sustainability; and acts as the financial advisor and consultant to the chairman and members of the Departments Board and the Manager and Chief Engineer.

    There is one (1) vacancy with the Honolulu Board of Water Supply, Finance Division.

    EDUCATION REQUIREMENT :


    Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, public administration, finance, or a related field.

    Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at a regionally-accredited college/university in the United States.

    In order to receive credit for the education, a foreign credential evaluation (FCE) must be provided.

    Such experience must have provided the knowledge, skills, and analytical ability normally gained from attainment of a bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, public administration, finance, or a related field.


    EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT :

    Four (4) years of professional (post-bachelor's degree, non-clerical) administrative experience with responsibility for a major accounting or auditing program which included commercial or utility accounting activities, including or supplemented by three (3) years of progressively responsible financial management experience involving types offinancing, cash management, investment/portfolio management,and/or cash flow analysis.


    Such experience must have demonstrated knowledge of:

    the principles and practices of commercial or utility accounting; financial analyses, financing, securities, and budget formulation and administration; State and municipal laws, ordinances, and regulations relating to finance, accounting, and monies and securities; issuing and selling bonds or securing other types of financing;and principles and practices of organization and supervision.
