    Diesel Fleet Mechanic Technician - Medley FL

    PAY RANGE: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour, based on experience
    Sign-on Bonus

    JOB SUMMARY
    To ensure vehicles are safe, reliable, and cost-efficient by conducting quality preventive maintenance inspections and timely repairs to prevent breakdowns on the road. This aims to reduce vehicle downtime and enhance overall fleet reliability.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Conduct required inspections and maintenance on vehicles and equipment within planned timeframes to maximize safety, reliability, and cost efficiency throughout the fleet's lifespan.
    • Perform Annual inspections on fleet vehicles as required by law, including tractors, trailers, and other company-owned equipment.
    • Carry out preventive maintenance inspections on all fleet vehicles according to company standards.
    • Execute necessary maintenance repairs to ensure safety and reliability of fleet vehicles.
    • Address Driver Vehicle Inspection Report write-ups promptly.
    • Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs on various vehicle systems following manufacturer specifications.
    • Document all work performed on work orders.
    • Enhance proficiency in Sysco computer programs.
    • Conduct electrical meter testing and perform electrical repairs and welding projects as needed.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    Education
    • Medium/Heavy Duty truck technical training or equivalent experience.
    • High school diploma or GED preferred.
    Experience
    • 2-year technical school with 1 year of experience OR 3 years of experience in fleet maintenance.
    • Valid driver's license.
    Preferred Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations
    • Annual Inspector Certification.
    • Brake Inspector Certification.
    • ASE certifications (Preferred).
    • 609 HVAC Certification.
    Professional Skills
    • Proficiency in diagnostic software for OEM's and component manufacturers.
    • Own and use necessary tools for maintenance and repair tasks.
    • Expertise in vehicle systems and components.
    • Knowledge in electrical systems diagnosis and repair.
    • Skills in Preventive Maintenance Inspections and repair.
    • Basic welding and cutting knowledge.
    • Basic computer skills.
    • Understanding of DOT regulations.
    • Knowledge of OSHA safety and environmental regulations.
    • Excellent hand and finger dexterity for using tools.
    • Ability to operate different equipment and perform physical tasks.
    Physical Demands
    • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands and fingers.
    • Occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, or crawl.
    • Frequently lift and/or move up to 100 lbs.
    Work Environment
    • May be exposed to varying environmental conditions and work in confined spaces.
    • Non-traditional work hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
    • Occasional travel may be required.
    • Exposure to heights, confined spaces, and airborne particles.
    • Moderate noise level in the work environment.
    • Frequent outdoor work.
