- Work account aging reports and meet collection goals.
- Review denied claims in a timely manner and contact insurance companies to obtain information as necessary.
- Re-bill corrected claims as necessary
- Ability to read chart notes and documentation
- File appeals and disputes (first level, second level, peer to peer)
- Communicate professionally with insurance companies, physicians, and clinic staff
- Meet productivity daily goals.
- Identify trends in aging reports
- Perform other duties as needed
- Minimum of 1-year billing experience
- Understanding of EOBS, Medicare guidelines, LCD, CCI edits, and appeals processes
- Be familiar with payer dispute process and timely filing guidelines
- Be familiar with modifiers
- Experience with payer portals
- Experience with eCW and EMA (Modernizing Medicine) a plus
- Microsoft Word and Excel
