    Description

    Job Summary:
    Interprets medication orders and prescriptions to ensure that they are complete, safe, rational, and compatible with institutional policy. Pharmacist, Downtown prepares compounds and dispenses medications for inpatient and ambulatory care use. This includes the preparation of injectable sterile products. Dispenses Pharmacy related items. Performs duties in all areas of Pharmacy to include inpatient, ambulatory care and satellites. Provides information to health care practitioners to promote the rational use of medications. Provides drug monitoring service. Maintains Pharmacy records by law and institutional policy. Interprets policy and procedures for hospital staff. Participates in teaching programs for hospital staff. Participates in Pharmacy Departments Quality Assurance Programs.


    Minimum Qualifications:
    B.S. in Pharmacy or Pharm.
    D., NYS license and registration - or eligible - required; completion of PGY1 Pharmacy residency or equivalent experience required.


    Preferred Qualifications:
    Previous hospital experience preferred.


    Work Days:

    Rotating Shifts:
    Days, Evenings, Weekends & Holidays (occasional Nights as needed)
