Description:

Serves as assistant to principal and assistant principal and is responsible for the efficient operation of the school. This position is responsible for a variety of administrative duties and budget/bokkeeping functions.

The person in this position is required to facitlitate problem solving for sensitive issues regarding resource acquisition, budget management, personnel, and record-keeping.

Extensive and responsible parent and student contact is an essential and very substantial requirement of this position.

Qualifications:

This position requires proficient skills related to bookkeeping and budget management; computer literacy including word processing, spreadsheet management and document layout; effective oral and written communication between all school stakeholders; problem-solving; staff and office management; comprehension of technical literature; and crisis response.

A significant responsibility is creating and maintaining a positive, welcoming and cooperative work environment in the school office.

The position requires the ability to maintain composure and patience in a setting that can, at times, be very stressful.

Working Conditions:

The position is based in the main office of a public middle school working in conjunction with the attendance secretary and school administration.

The executive secretary handles incoming phone calls, welcomes and attends to school visitors, and responds to staff. The schedule is 40 hours per week.
