    Job Description

    Purpose & Scope:
    Responsible for operating telephone communication system between general public, patients, physicians, and staff in a timely and professional manner. Answer multi-line phones, takes messages, page physicians and staff, triage calls and route them to appropriate personnel and department.
    Imaging support specialists performs and maintains a variety of duties consistent with workflow of the reading room.

    Checks in, organizes, uploads, and prepares radiological exam films from outside facilities ensuring that all patient information is present and accurate.

    Responsible for timely release of medical information to, requesting parties.

    This responsibility requires knowledge of the legal constraints associated with the release of medical information and following all HIPAA regulations.

    Responsible for processing all requests in accordance with applicable hospital and departmental policies.
    Technical aptitude with basic knowledge of computer functions, hardware and software.

    Ability to troubleshoot minor computer issues and familiarity with medical information systems such as HIS, RIS, PACS, EMR and voice recognition applications.

    Willingness to learn and desire to advance technical skill set is essential.

    Responsible for the operation, maintenance, and applications of the Imaging support systems; Verify and PowerShare, including the monitoring of physician data, verification of critical results, and transport of images.

    Will be working independently or with minimum supervision.

    Must have the ability to problem-solve, maintain high-level attention to detail, and to communicate and work effectively with physicians, patients, and employees.

    Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to monitor multiple systems concurrently with accuracy.

    Education:
    High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
    Associate's degree is preferred.

    Experience:


    One year experience in the healthcare field and knowledge of medical terminology are preferred or a year of diagnostic imaging experience and information technology are preferred.
