    Job Summary:


    The Production Manager is responsible for supervision and management of all aspects of the plant production during assigned shift required to produce the needed product in a timely manner, including the management of production associates, assisting in all human resource and management issues, and interacting with all other departments to provide quality service.


    Essential Functions:
    Provide leadership and direction to up to 30 Production Associates to ensure quality, safety, and production goals are met.
    Ensure that all assigned processes are completed on time & according to Company standard.
    Manage, approve and monitor weekly shift payroll.
    Conduct coaching and counseling sessions for Associates as needed.
    Facilitate training for new Associates, and ongoing training for current Associates, to include monthly safety training.
    Notify maintenance of needed machine repairs.
    Perform all necessary duties consistent with the proper and efficient operation of the plant during assigned shift.
    Lead productive and efficient Daily Huddles with assigned team of Associates.
    Continually improve assigned performance metrics.
    Perform in a high-performance culture where a continuous improvement mindset expected to maintain discipline and focus; e.g. 5S, Standard Work, Hour by Hour and SQDC Boards.

    Manage a clean and organized area to maintain HLAC standards and ensure that it serves as a "show place" for our customers and associates.


    Supervisory Responsibilities:
    Supervision of assigned shift associates.

    Monitor work performance for compliance with company and department policies, including but not limited to attendance/punctuality, poor work performance, safety, production, etc.

    Issue and discuss disciplinary actions as necessary.
    Ensure proper training of new and assigned associates as it relates to their essential job functions.
    Ensure associates adhere to all department procedures while performing assigned duties.
    Ensure performance evaluations (yearly or probationary) for assigned associates are completed and shared in a timely manner.
    Manage line item accountability for assigned GL code.
    Requirements

    Required Skills & Abilities:
    Good working knowledge and skill in operating computers and of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) required.
    Extensive knowledge and skill in plant protocols and procedures and ability to train others in the same required.

    Must have well developed communication and basic math skills, organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills, efficient multi-tasking abilities, ability to supervise multiple workers in an often fast-paced environment, organizational skills, and able to foster a positive team working environment.


    Physical Requirements:
    The ability to stand, sit and/or walk repeatedly throughout most of the workday.
    When in the plant, subject to the outside environment with possible exposure to extreme temperatures (heat, cold, humidity, etc.).
    Normal lifting of up to 50 pounds is possible.
    Mobility is necessary in order to perform assigned functions.
    Noise level is moderate to heavy as the work area is a production environment.
    Position requires the ability to occasionally work different shifts to monitor plant performance.
    Personal protective equipment is available and will be required to be worn as the situation dictates.

    Required Credentials:
    Bachelor's Degree and three or more years' experience serving in a production supervisory capacity required.
    Experience working in a continuous improvement culture highly desired. (e.g. Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma). Six Sigma or Green Belt certification a plus.
