    With proper experience and education the Business Intelligence Analyst position could be considered to be

    a level II or III position.


    General Description:


    The primary purpose of this position is to turn data into critical information that can be used to make informed business decisions.

    This position requires the ability to perform in-depth data requirements analysis by working with functional users and subject matter experts.

    This position will follow a well-defined Business Intelligence methodology to create the required artifacts necessary for dimensional model design and the subsequent handoff to BI/ETL Developers.

    The position will ensure all business analytics questions are answered by empowering department data champions to create and publish visualizations, dashboards, and data stories using the District's Business Intelligence toolsets.

    Minimum Qualifications:


    Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with a minimum of four (4) years' experience in information technology.

    An equivalent combination of education and experience may be qualifying.
    Minimum of two (2) years working on data projects including data query and analysis.
    Knowledge of current project management methodologies.
    Ability to effectively gather use case requirements related to data analytics and business intelligence.
    Basic understanding and use of Structured Query Language (SQL).
    Ability to create effective reports that tell data stories.
    Strong documentation skills.

    Desired Qualifications:
    General knowledge of BI tools and how to use them.
    Basic knowledge of relational databases.
    Current Project management Certifications, PMP, SCM, ASM, CSM or PSM 1
    Experience with Utility data and management.


    Work Environment:


    The work environment conditions described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

    Work is performed in the office Monday through Thursday 7:00 am to 5:30 pm.

    Remote work is not available for this position.
