    Staff Accountant

    Location: Nashville, TN

    Position Overview: We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our client's team. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the company's financial operations by maintaining accurate financial records, analyzing financial data, and providing insights to drive business decisions.

    Responsibilities:

    • Perform day-to-day accounting tasks, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and account reconciliations.
    • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to support internal and external reporting requirements.
    • Analyze financial data and trends to identify variances, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
    • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes by providing accurate financial information and analysis.
    • Support the month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals, adjustments, and reconciliations.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate recording and reporting of financial transactions.
    • Assist with audit and tax compliance activities, including preparing schedules and providing documentation to auditors and tax preparers.
    • Stay current with accounting regulations and standards to ensure compliance and best practices.
    • Participate in special projects and initiatives to enhance financial processes and systems.
    • Provide support and training to junior staff members as needed.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
    • 3+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
    • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
    • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, as well as Microsoft Excel.
    • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trends.
    • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
    • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • CPA certification or CPA candidate is a plus.
    • Knowledge of tax regulations and experience with tax preparation is desirable.
