    We are a growing organization seeking a talented Electrical Engineer to join our team as a pivotal member here at PBF Energy.

    This role is located at Chalmette Refinery in Chalmette, LA.JOB SUMMARY The Electrical Engineer, as part of the Mechanical Integrity Department at a major integrated petrochemical manufacturing facility, is responsible for specification and design of reliability improvements for new, modified, and existing electrical distribution equipment, and providing engineering support to the electrical maintenance group for maintaining and troubleshooting of the existing refinery electrical system.

    This individual will also be responsible for developing maintenance and reliability strategies related to the refinery electrical equipment.

    PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES Provides technical support for the maintenance, operation, and troubleshooting of the refinery's electrical systems and equipment (including low, medium, and high voltage electrical equipment)Investigates electrical equipment failures and recommends actions to enhance the system and equipment reliabilityDevelops electrical scope, electrical engineering packages, and defines preventive maintenance to be performed for turnarounds and scheduled shutdownsDevelops electrical equipment specifications and associated reliability improvements/upgrade plans for that equipmentReviews test data to evaluate health of electrical equipment, suitability for service, and make repair/replacement recommendationsProvide technical support as needed to a 24/7 facilityProvides technical support for front-end development, cost estimation, design, construction, and startup for projects and Management of Change packagesAssists in the development of maintenance and operating procedures for electrical equipmentWorks to understand and promote Chalmette electrical practicesMaintains an understanding of industry standards (API, NFPA, NEC, IEEE, ASME, ANSI, ASCE)Maintains knowledge of electrical area classifications and is familiar with acceptable methods of satisfying the requirements of equipment installations in hazardous areas.

    Understands the requirements of process changes (e.g., Management of Change)JOB QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering required5+ years of refinery/industrial or related experience including experience and knowledge with medium voltage equipment requiredAbility to comprehend electrical drawings (one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, motor control schematics, etc.) requiredExperience in power system analysis, fault analysis, load flow, coordination, and arc-flash analysis Experience using electrical analysis software (EasyPower, SKM, etc.) preferredExperience in programming microprocessor relays (SEL, etc.) preferredAbility to work with a wide variety of personnel at different levels of engineering, design, maintenance, and management and with internal customers as well as suppliersGood interpersonal skillsAbility to communicate effectively and clearly in both written and verbal form for the purpose of instructing others in technical matters and obtaining cooperation from various personnel.

    Understanding in the operation and maintenance of industrial electrical equipment, motors, motor starters, breakers, relay protection devices, transformers, and switchgear.

    Working experience in petrochemical production units and awareness of surroundings from a safety and environmental point of viewDemonstrates basic PC knowledge and skills.

    Has ability to use basic software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, etc. Updates Project Management Program and has ability to use basic project scheduling program.

    Physical ability to work around industrial equipment, including frequent climbing of stairs and laddersWillingness to work around dust, chemical, high temperatures, etc.
