About the Job

General Motors is seeking Industrial Electrician Journeypersons to join their team. As an Electrician Journeyperson, you will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical equipment, ensuring the smooth operation of circuits and control systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Follow safety procedures based on OSHA standards and company guidelines
• Maintain and repair electrical equipment
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical malfunctions to prevent production delays
• Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on plant equipment
• Promote teamwork and collaboration across departments
• Engage in continuous improvement initiatives
• Interpret drawings and wiring schematics
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities

Additional Details

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of six (6) years of experience as an Electrician or a U.S. Department of Labor Certificate of Completion in the Electrical trade
• Successfully pass General Motors' hiring process, including assessments, drug testing, and a background check
• At least 18 years old
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Flexible to work varied shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays
• Position not eligible for GM immigration sponsorship
• Internal GM employees under a collective bargaining agreement should contact HR/LR for placement opportunities
• Compensation varies based on qualifications and interview performance
