    Service Technician - Testing and Compliance

    Pay Range: $

    Location: Sioux Falls, SD

Midwest Petroleum Equipment is the industry's leading developer of retail gas stations and private fuel systems and is seeking staff to play an integral role in leading a professional sales and business development system. This position is designed to help grow the Midwest Petroleum Equipment mission by working to vertically integrate our services with existing and new clients.

    Responsibilities:

    • Perform testing and inspection services on petroleum equipment for leak detection and vapor recovery. Cathodic protection, secondary containment, and tank monitoring systems.
    • Utilize Midwest Petroleum Equipment's proprietary operations platform to schedules testing
    • Review field test results prior to submittal to customers or regulatory agencies
    • Notify customer and necessary agencies immediately upon confirmation of site failures
    • Ability to diagnose and perform minor repairs to underground storage tank systems.
    • Complete compliance and testing reports for customers in a timely manner.
    • Administrative duties to include documentation of site failures, assurance that test results/notifications are sent to customer contacts/appropriate agencies
    • Communicate with all customers and explain technical issues to non-technical people.
    • Work in a team-oriented environment that requires working and communicating positively and professionally with fellow employees, customers, and vendors
    • Present yourself professionally and be prompt when making service calls.

    Education and Qualifications:

    • High School diploma required, but college degree preferred
    • UST/AST/Petroleum Industry experience is a plus but not required
    • Experience in service industry preferred but not required.
    • Be at least 21 years of age
    • Valid driver's license and good driving record

    Requirements:

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office products
    • Sound integrity and professional ethics
    • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to multitask, prioritize and complete assignments on time
    • Organizational skills

    Hours:

    • This is a full-time position working Monday-Friday
    • You have the capacity to make your own schedule within limits.
    • Majority is local travel.
    • There are some sites that are not local that can be scheduled out months in advance, requiring overnight travel occasionally.
    • No on call schedule requirements for this role.
