    Job Summary

    This position is responsible for all mail functions required by Midland College.

    Required Qualifications
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Computer literacy
    • Ability to pick up, sort, and deliver mail to all Midland College campuses located in Midland, TX
    • Must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments
    • Must possess a valid Texas Driver License, good driving record, and be insurable on Midland College's insurance policy
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Clerical experience to include some experience with mailroom operations
    • Prior experience operating a postal meter
    Essential Functions
    • Under the supervision of the mailroom clerk and when needed:
    • Pick up mail from the post office on a daily basis, as needed, including periods of campus closure (extended holidays and spring break)
    • Pick up and deliver interdepartmental and first-class mail to all Midland College locations
    • Responsible for applying correct postage to all outgoing mail and adherence to time schedules for pickup of mail by mail service
    • Process and transport bulk mail to the post office
    • Responsible for hand delivery of packets to both Midland College and Midland College Foundation board members
    • Report monthly to the accounting department, balances for prepaid postage, business reply, and bulk mail accounts. See that balances are replenished in a timely, when necessary
    • Guide all college inquiries concerning postage questions
    • Assist accounting office with clerical duties
    • Other duties as assigned
    Physical Demands
    • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 25% of the time
    • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
    • The person in this position needs to frequently move or drive to other locations on and off-campus
    • Stamina to pick up and deliver mail to both main and off-campus locations
    • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation
    • Use of manual dexterity
    • The person in this position frequently communicates with others; must be able to exchange accurate information
    • Frequently moves and lifts mail or boxes weighing up to 50 pounds
    • Duties indoors and outdoors
    Security Sensitivity

    All Midland College positions are security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code §51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information. An employment offer is contingent on completion of a satisfactory criminal background investigation.

    $11.00 per hour
