Primary Accountability

The Revenue Cycle Specialist II will support the Revenue Cycle Director and the Revenue Cycle Manager in daily operations.

Primary Responsibilities

Assist in monitoring operations, including:

The monthly report of un-dropped charges in the doctors' report.
Unapplied credit balances.
Patient payment refund.
Insurance verification for newborn hospital encounters.
Report on newborn hospital encounters.
Verification of Medicaid eligibility.

Support staff in ensuring accuracy and efficiency, particularly in reviewing work related to:

Verify MBCHC patients' insurance coverage for next-day appointments or walk-ins.
Providing training on effective insurance verification to MBCHC staff as necessary.
Insurance Verification reference sheet with instructions from insurance plans.
Collection projects.

Review denials and rejections of insurance claims to identify trends.
Work on reducing or eliminating insurance rejections and denials.
Assist with human resource functions.
Train staff on finance functions when needed.
Optimize cash flow while enhancing customer relations.
Serve as a key resource for billing matters.

Professional and Technical Knowledge

Understand insurance company practices on reimbursement and healthcare receivables.
Minimum 1 year experience at a federally qualified health center.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Utilize clerical and numerical skills for data preparation.
Create various documents from raw data.

Communication Skills

Strong written and oral communication abilities.
Effectively convey complex concepts to different audiences.

Additionally, transportation and translation services are provided, along with support for case management such as health insurance enrollment, Medicare registration, and Healthy Start prenatal services.
