- Manage, support, and maintain Linux installed systems
- Install, upgrade, and maintain Linux based systems
- Ensure security of systems and data
- Manage system backups, restore, and recovery
- Manage and maintain printers and scanners
- Manage user accounts, groups, and services
- Manage and maintain storage
- Work with users to resolve account/system issues
- Provide support on all Linux applications and UNIX based applications
- Provide support to users on basic and advanced desktop and server tasks
- Assist with Linux server administration tasks
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Help troubleshoot problems with Linux servers, running various versions of Linux, including Red Hat, Ubuntu, and CentOS
- Engage in continuous testing of new Linux versions and applications on an on-demand basis
- Perform change control
- Assist with user management, such as creating accounts for new hires and training seasoned professionals on company policies
- Install and maintain servers
- Help automate server maintenance, including running scripts and automated processes
- Maintain server uptime and network performance
- Assist with server documentation
- Maintain server security
- Ensure all administrative procedures are followed
- Document all server incidents and outages
