    Description

    Our client, an alternative asset manager, is seeking a Senior Vice President (SVP) or Vice President (VP) of Investor Relations and Business Development.

    This role will support the firm's senior management and portfolio managers across the fundraising lifecycle, from planning and executing multiple fundraises to post-fundraising communication and long-term relationship building. Extensive collaboration with limited partners(LPs) is required, including following up on fundraising materials and guiding them through due diligence and closing.

    While the firm's senior team has established LP relationships that will drive most of the initial investor outreach, the candidate will be instrumental in initiating outreach to potential new investors. They will also contribute to the development of a state-of-the-art investor portal and ensure its seamless connection to underlying investment activities.

    The candidate will report to the firm's President and CEO, both of whom have extensive experience in fundraising for new strategies. The candidate will also have extensive interaction with the individual portfolio managers and will be a key partner to the investment teams during meetings and other LP interactions. The candidate will work across multiple strategies – current strategies are renewable energy, digital assets, media, and life sciences.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate on the design and execution of an effective institutional marketing strategy for launching multiple first-time funds.
    • Support fundraising efforts by attending meetings, capturing critical information for CRM, and diligently following up with potential investors to optimize deal closure.
    • Provide regular updates to the executive team on marketing process and investor feedback
    • Manage investor events and communications strategies.
    • Foster strong cross-functional collaboration with investment, operations, and legal teams to achieve the company's overall objectives.

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an Investor Relations/Fundraising role.
    • Experience with private market fundraising: working as part of a team on multiple closed fundraisings.
    • Track Record working with large institutional investors: interacting with large asset allocators understanding their needs and process.
    • First-time funds: experience working with first-time strategies is a plus.
    • Organized: a key skill will be coordinating multiple LPs performing diligence/closing and assuring that we are proactive and engaging to close as effectively as possible.
    • Attention to detail: demonstrated ability to pay close attention to detail and ensure accuracy in all tasks and projects.
    • Communication: able to synthesize complex information into a concise and compelling presentation.

    The role is based in Century City and is in office 5 days/week.

    Comp structure will be: base + bonus + carry and will be competitive/market and commensurate with experience
