    High School Diploma or GED
    Must have knowledge of and/or the ability to learn occupational hazards and safety precautions.

    Must be able to report for work on time and to perform the duties of the job for the workday.

    Must be able to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with other employees and effectively communicate with the public.

    Must have the ability to use good judgement while performing job related tasks. Pre-employment and random drug testing. Valid drivers? license. TBI/FBI/DCS background check. CPR and First aid training.
    Assist regular education, special education and pre-school students in boarding and exiting special education school buses.
    Make sure the students are properly secured in seatbelts/harnesses and wheelchairs if available.
    Report any medical problems to the bus driver.
    Monitor and control behavior of students on the bus.
    Assist in maintaining discipline and safety on the bus.
    Write legibly so that others may read and understand.
    Walk on uneven terrain such as school buses in motion.
    Able to lift and carry 40 to 60 pounds, as well as bend, stoop, walk and reach overhead.
    Physically able to push/pull, squat, twist and turn?
    Learn the bus route and inform substitute bus drivers about the route and students.
    Assist in emergency evacuations if needed.
    Maintain any student report sheets required for the job and insure it is turned in by date due.
    Turn in time sheets and reports in a timely manner.
    Attend all in-services necessary for the job.
    Be willing to receive any training necessary to care for student with special needs.
    Able to travel to the school bus driver?s location or home to meet the bus and be on time.
    Perform other duties as assigned.
    Will sit on the back seat of the bus to monitor all student.
    The use of cell phones on the buses will not be permitted by assistants, unless it is and emergency.
    Assistants are responsible to call Transportation as soon as possibly if they need a substitute.
