    The FFT Recruiter is tasked with reviewing referrals for youth in FFT FC, matching them to open foster homes, and participating on the team for training and licensing of foster parents.

    The FFT Recruiter will further support foster parents through support groups, post-licensure training, and retention of foster homes. The FFT Recruiter will actively seek appropriate permanency resources when one is not readily available upon entering foster care.

    The FFT Recruiter will work collaboratively on the FFT team and display ongoing communication regarding continuity of placement and needed supports in order to achieve permanency for youth in foster care.


    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Recruit and retain families for foster care services to ensure placement of all children referred by DCF
    Develop and implement a written child-specific recruitment plan, with monthly updates provided to the CPS team, for each child in the FFT FC program who does not have a permanency and/
    or placement resource
    Ensure cultural, linguistic, racial and ethnic diversity in recruited families to mirror the identity of the children served
    Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings with both birth and foster families
    Intensive search and engagement activities and application of extreme recruitment tools to identify potential resources (e.g., case mining, record reviews, family finding tools, Lexis Nexis as permitted by The Department)
    Actively recruit permanent resources for assigned children including individuals connected to the child, biological relatives, families seeking to adopt, and any other resources that may lead to permanency for the child
    Facilitate public relations efforts to recruit and match potential families and children
    Monitor successful recruitment efforts as well as stay up to date on recruitment campaigns locally and nationally including Wendy's Wonderful Kids
    Provide pre and post-licensing training and support groups to prospective foster and adoptive parents
    Cultivate and maintain relationships with a variety of community organizations, groups and entities (e.g., faith-based organizations, civic groups, grassroots organizations, hospitals and the community at large) to aid with the recruitment of a sufficient number of qualified and licensed homes to achieve the minimum annual contract capacity
    Develop and implement the Contractor's annual recruitment and retention plan, ensure recruitment and retention goals are met
    Conduct all required licensing and reapproval processes for new and existing families
    Demonstrate appreciation of cultural diversity, heritage and knowledge of cultural issues and patterns
    Network with DCF and community agencies
    Perform additional duties as assigned to provide consistent, seamless services to children and families
    Complete required documentation in the electronic health record in an accurate and timely manner
    Participate in on-call coverage as needed on a rotating basis among program staff


    Requirements:
    Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Sociology or Psychology required along with 2 years' experience in their field of study.

    The FFT Recruiter shall be an individual with a foster care recruitment background and have a strong knowledge of the local community in which they will be recruiting.

    The FFT Recruiter shall work closely with DCF and partner agencies to gain a full understanding of the social-emotional and permanency needs of the children and birth families who are to be served in foster care.

    Must have a valid Connecticut driver's license, reliable transportation and be willing to drive to home visits within the community and to collaborative meetings and trainings
    Ability to work well with families, children and collaterals
    Ability to write clear and concise reports
    Must have awareness of the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of clients served
    Knowledge of an electronic health record system
    Knowledge and expertise of the child welfare system, and family systems
    Bi-lingual is not required but preferred
