    Job Summary:


    The Nursing Station Tech (NST) serves the hospital patient population by providing constant overview of patient care area and monitoring of activity throughout the unit.

    Customer service, patient family support, and safety are primary responsibilities of this position. This position also includes clerical functions and specific patient care duties to facilitate efficient and comprehensive services. The House Supervisor/Nurse Director may re-assign to other units based on changes of volumes and acuity.

    Here's what you'll do when you join us:
    Monitor activity throughout the unit and nursing station while maintaining patient safety.
    Answer and direct phone calls.
    Anwer patient call lights and patient safety alarms.
    Apply monitor and report effectiveness to the RN.
    Observe and monitor patients and complete hourly rounding.
    Monitor patients identified as at risk for elopement or falls.
    Monitor and facilitate admission of patients, visitors, and employees to the
    WHBC.
    Maintain a working knowledge of Code processes throughout the organization.
    Place identification on patients.
    Maintain and order inpatient unit supplies and stick items.
    Assemble and disassemble patient charts.
    Assist with completion of birth certificate and facility worksheet information on
    WHBC.
    Operate paging system.
    Complete release if Information processes.
    Maintain knowledge of and compliance with hospital safety, disaster and emergency procedures.
    Clean and disinfect equipment as needed.
    Initiates the cleaning of patient care areas upon discharge and prepare the room for new admission.
    Assist in the set up and tear down of delivery tables.
    Assist in room clean up after delivery.

    If you have these qualifications, we'd love to chat:

    Must be 18 years of age or older.

    Graduate of a Nursing Aide program. Certification and current listing on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry preferred.
    BLS Certification or ability to obtain within two months of hire and maintains certification.

    Experience in an ambulatory or inpatient health care setting with ability to multi-task and manage multiple patient/family/nursing/physician priorities within short time frames preferred.

    Demonstrated ability to adhere to and follow Grand Itasca Clinic & Hospital Mission, Values, Vision and policies.
    Maintains reliable and consistent attendance.
