    Job Description:

    Under the leadership of the Business Applications Manager, the Systems Analyst I is responsible for supporting basic application functions, performing system configuration tasks, maintaining security, resolving problems, system maintenance, process/workflow optimization, software implementation/support, data integrations, report writing, and meeting all customer expectations in assigned applications maintained by the Health Information Technology (HIT) department. Works collaboratively with other application analysts, technology teams, clinical informatics, instructional designers, and users to ensure the effective performance of the various systems. This position serves as the primary liaison between vendors, technology teams, and the users for all Foundation systems, including Ellucian CRM Advance, CBORD, Volgistics, Gallery Systems, Anthology, etc. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

    Level I Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    1. Development, testing, validation, and maintenance of assigned applications.

    2. Utilize technical background and subject matter expertise to build, enhance, and support assigned applications.

    3. Serve as a resource in promoting the understanding, integration, and application of information technology in healthcare settings and workflows.

    4. Developing and maintaining an understanding of clinical, technical, and operational workflows to properly optimize the assigned application.

    5. Coordinates aspects of planning, design, development, implementation, communication, maintenance, and evaluation of existing or new functionality to ensure efficient processes.

    6. Complete testing and workflow validation of assigned applications and modifications before implementation into all environments.

    7. Analyzing data and gathering end user requirements in support of business cases, proposed projects, systems requirements, and evaluating complicated workflows by working directly with end users and stakeholders.

    8. In addition to providing support to end users, oversees implementation of new software, upgrades, patches, service updates, and provides documentation of project issues along with resolutions in support of assigned applications.

    9. Participate in on call coverage rotation as assigned.

    10. Follow team standard operating procedures, polices, and use organization standard templates.

    11. Maintaining focus on customer service and responsiveness.

    12. Excellent communication both written and verbal.

    13. Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems.

    14. Mastering HIT tools, applications, and processes.

    15. Maintain fluency in HIT and industry best practices, tools, applications, certifications, and processes.

    16. Follow departmental and organizational policies and procedures.

    On-site preferred.

    Experience:

    Previous work as a systems analyst.
    * Two or more years' experience supporting technology systems.
    * Three or more years' experience in healthcare or related field.
    * Enterprise application support, system administration, and experience troubleshooting software.
    * Knowledge of clinical and/or business workflows.
    * Experience with project implementations and project management.
    * SQL proficiency required.
    * Responsible for generating and compiling reports based on the findings, complete with probable causes and possible solutions to systems issues.
    * Strong analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret clinical and business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
    * Experience with application configuration tools to support clinical or business systems.
    * Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment.
    * Detail oriented with a desire and ability to learn quickly.
    * Ability to work productively in teams and independently.
    * Self-motivated and flexible to accommodate changes in clinical and business strategies.
    * Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    * Customer-service oriented with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff.
    * Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Viso, Access).
    * Experience with IT issue tracking software or "ticketing" systems (e.g. Service Now).

    Preferred Experience:

    * Working knowledge of networks and PC operating systems.
    * Understanding of industry standard message formats (e.g. HL7, X12, and XML).
    * Extensive practical knowledge in importing data for use in report software, spreadsheets, graphs, and flow charts.
    * Programming and scripting (HTML, JavaScript, PowerShell, SQL)
    * Proven experience in the operation and analysis of database software, standards, and data retrieval methodologies.
    * Experience with report writing tools, preferably SSRS and Tableau.
    * Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services.
    * Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services.
    * Significant experience troubleshooting proprietary software.
    * Familiarity with Ellucian CRM Advance and Microsoft Dynamics.
    * UKG Kronos system support: reporting, integrations, and configuration.
    * Workday system support: custom reporting (system and BIRT), integrations (connector, EIBs, and studio).

    Education:

    Bachelor's degree in healthcare, informatics, business management, or computer science required. Equivalent experience may be substituted.

    * None

    Relevant application certification is required within 90 days of completion date of course and as required to support new versions.

    Assigned Work Hours:

    Full time (exempt). This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both onsite 3 days per week in office and remote in California.
