    Position Summary

    Molecular Devices is searching for an Product Manager to join our Strategic Portfolio Management. Candidate will be responsible for defining and executing on the plate reader road map for our FLIPR, electrophysiology product and responsible for portfolio obsolescence. To accomplish this, the candidate will need to work across functional boundaries with engineering, sales, manufacturing, and marketing counterparts. Position reports to the Director of Portfolio management.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Understand markets, competition, and user requirements.
    • Work closely with R&D and engineering teams to ensure timely launch of new products.
    • Collaborate on product launch plans to ensure product acceptance and revenue goals.
    • Set financial expectations for new products and work with commercial team to verify assumptions.
    • Manage part numbers and pricing for existing product lines to ensure maximum commercial impact. Maintain pricelist with changes driven through product improvement activities.
    • Coordinate delivery of sales tools and training as needed to support initiatives, commercial growth and onboarding of new sales associates.
    • Gather and structure customer feedback on existing products. Build and prioritize pipeline of product improvements, software updates, and cost reduction initiatives.
    • Assist with existing product escalations and EOL activities. Responsible for entire obsolescence process by effectively working with key stakeholders.
    • Monitor product portfolio performance and devise commercial countermeasures as needed to address gaps
    Qualifications

    •BS degree in life science or equivalent knowledge gained through work experience

    •3+ years of product management experience in a life sciences company

    •Knowledge of microplate reader and detection market is a plus

    •Proven ability to accomplish tasks in a team environment (e.g.: engineering, marketing, manufacturing, technical support), providing day-to-day input where needed to achieve goals.

    •Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to articulate and present complex concepts.

    •Travel of up to 15% both domestically and internationally is expected to meet with global development teams and customers.
