Seeking a NDT Inspector J1-J4 working Monday to Friday.

    Shift: ALL
    Security Clearance: No Clearance

    • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND PURPOSE:
      Performs various QA inspections and tests, conducting audits during ship repair to ensure compliance with specifications, drawings, and contract requirements.

      POSITION DEMANDS (Education/Training):
      Technical/Associate Degree in Q.A./Marine-related field or equivalent experience, or 4 to 6 years of Quality Assurance inspection experience. Certification as a Non-Destructive Test Inspector Level II to NAVSEA TECHPUB requirements. Knowledge of ship construction and repair procedures, including welding, machinery, electrical piping, and measuring instruments for inspections.

      POSITION DEMANDS (Required Experience)
      Ability to work at heights, climb ladders, use testing instruments, read blueprints, and solve problems. Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma principles, quality system audits, and corrective actions.
      Computer literate, good communication skills, and able to work collaboratively.

      GUIDELINES FOR OA INSPECTOR NDT JOURNEYPERSON 4 (QA NDT INSPECTOR)
      Must meet specified requirements, including obtaining certifications, documenting inspections, and conducting audits while working independently.

      JOURNEYPERSON 3 (QA NDT INSPECTOR)
      Must meet requirements for Level II NDT Inspector and demonstrate expertise in QA inspections. Able to write reports, conduct training, and work without direct supervision.

      JOURNEYPERSON 2 (QA NDT INSPECTOR)
      Must meet Level II NDT Inspector requirements, document inspections, and ensure compliance with specifications. Capable of providing guidance and evaluating work quality.

      JOURNEYPERSON 1 (QA NDT INSPECTOR)
      Entry-level role requiring NDT Level II VT inspector qualification and basic Microsoft skills. Responsibilities include conducting inspections, ensuring safety, and communicating effectively.

        WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
        Reports to QA Supervisor or QA Manager. Collaborates with internal departments and external stakeholders. Requires teamwork.

        PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
        Conducts inspections, documents results, evaluates tests, manages documentation, and ensures compliance with quality standards. Provides reports, specialized inspections, and performs NDT processes.
        Responsible for monitoring activities, researching requirements, and preparing QA metrics.
