Ellis School - Develops library and STEM lessons for teaching students how to use and analyze various digital tools and printed media.
- Teaches basic computing technology skills to all students so that all learners will be able to use and understand digital technology in everyday life.
- Utilizes current research and methods in digital technology for learning and teaching.
- Inspires a love for reading and research. Serves as ready resource to students to provide research assistance.
- Operates and supervises the library center.
- Evaluates, selects and requisitions appropriate books, aids and other supplies and equipment and maintains inventory records.
- Maintains a comprehensive and efficient system for cataloguing and lending all media center materials; assists students and teachers with the use of the system.
- Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research.
- Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
- NH State Certification as a Computer Science Teacher, K-8 Teacher, Digital Learning Specialist, or Library/Media Specialist.
- Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
- Masters Degree preferred.
Computer Science and Media Teacher
Position Purpose
Ellis School is in search of a K-8 educator with a passion for computer science and printed/electronic media to join our community. With a classroom located in the library/media center, the ideal candidate would design lessons and activities aligned to our computer science, technology, and library standards that are developmentally appropriate, engaging, and relevant for grades K-8.
