    Join our innovative engineering team in Waterloo, Iowa, as an Automation Engineer, where you'll play a vital role in shaping the future of our automated processes.

    You will focus on controls and electrical engineering for processing, filling, and packaging applications, leveraging your expertise to drive projects from conception to completion.

    This role combines technical challenges with the opportunity to make impactful decisions that enhance our operational efficiency and productivity.

    Key Responsibilities:
    Lead the full project lifecycle, from initial planning and design through to execution and final review.
    Develop comprehensive project submittal packages to outline clear and precise project plans, ensuring alignment with business goals.
    Determine optimal equipment and system layouts, infrastructure needs, and performance criteria to meet stringent cost, schedule, and quality requirements.

    Collaborate closely with the Plant Engineering Manager and Project Manager to prepare capital and expense estimates and design schedules that align with overall project timelines.

    Author detailed functional descriptions for control and electrical systems to guide development and implementation.
    Independently manage and coordinate project activities, ensuring timely completion and adherence to established standards.
    Foster a collaborative team environment, participating in plant trials, and contributing to experiments.
    Deliver technical presentations and reports to stakeholders, maintaining open lines of communication throughout the project lifecycle.
    Develop and maintain deep expertise in processing, filling, and packaging systems within the assigned areas.
    Stay ahead of industry trends in food packaging technology and integrate innovative solutions into our processes.

    Qualifications:


    Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Robotics Engineering, with a strong focus on control systems relevant to processing, packaging, and filling equipment.

    At least 2-7 years of experience in control system design, preferably in the food manufacturing industry.
    Demonstrated proficiency with AutoCAD and creating electrical schematics.
    In-depth knowledge of Rockwell Controls, GE systems, and network configurations.
    Experience in complex, highly automated facilities, with upcoming projects involving AI technology.
    Exceptional detail orientation and team collaboration skills.
