ATCS is seeking an energetic, highly motivated, detail-oriented, self-starter to join our team as a Senior Roadway Engineer / Project Manager in our Glen Allen VA office.

This is an exciting opportunity to support and shape our roadway design services group in Virginia. The individual will perform a variety of engineering tasks relative to VDOT and various municipal roadway design projects. The diversity of responsibilities requires a flexible mindset and cooperative team-oriented attitude with progressively increasing design and management capabilities.

This is a hybrid role, with a minimum of 3 days per week required onsite in the Glen Allen office and up to 2 days working remotely.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Daily responsibilities may include project design, task management, client contact, and quality control.
Development of roadway construction documents, specifically roadway plans, profiles, typical sections, maintenance of traffic plans, cost estimating and planning
Preparing reports and studies
Preparing for, attending, and participating in public meetings
Directing others in performing designs for various roadway infrastructure projects based on AASHTO, VDOT and local municipality requirements; reviewing and managing designs prepared by others
Coordinating with contractors, utility companies and government agencies

Basis Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
Minimum of 6 years of experience in roadway design – preferably in Virginia
Professional Engineer's license in VA is preferred, will consider other states with the commitment of obtaining a Virginia PE within 6 months of starting employment
MicroStation ORD experience
Familiarity with AASHTO, VDOT and regional design standards, practices and policies
