    Position Description :

    The Honors College seeks to develop a pool of candidates for possible temporary/nontenured faculty to teach a wide variety of honors classes. The honors faculty come from a wide range of departments and backgrounds. This diversity provides the Honors College with highly valued innovative teaching methods and ideas. Faculty have the opportunity to propose courses and supervise theses. For information about current offerings, please visit our searchable Honors College course catalog.

    Temporary/nontenured faculty are appointed to teach one to four courses per semester. Teaching appointments are based upon student demand on a semester-by-semester basis. Eligibility for annual reappointment is contingent upon satisfactory annual performance evaluations during the term period, in addition to continuity of funding and need. Successful candidates may teach in San Marcos and/or online, depending on the needs of the academic department.

    This posting is for the fall 2023, spring 2024, and summer 2024 semesters. Please note that this posting is not intended to convey that such a need currently exists.     Required Qualifications:

    Specific educational requirements vary by position, but a minimum of a master's degree with 18 graduate hours in the teaching field is generally required.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Previous teaching experience is preferred.
