- Troubleshoot processes to maintain consistent production throughput.
- Maintain staff by interviewing, selecting, orientating, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities.
- Provide ongoing training to all production personnel on each of the following:
- Production line assembly and disassembly
- Production line operation
- Production line quality control
- Production computer work (picking, job completion, and inventory adjustments)
- Proper cleaning procedures both facility and equipment
- Work Safety
- Good Manufacturing Practices
- Implement process improvements and assist in their development.
- Assess and aid in the design of quality systems. Implement Quality systems. Ensure all Quality Requirements are being met on a daily basis, communicating any non-conformances to Management for review.
- Drive manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, and disciplining employees; coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain work flow by monitoring steps of the processes; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
- Coordinate efforts with R&D team to troubleshoot any product quality discrepancies and execute on suggested adjustments to ensure finished product quality.
- Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the process flow on shift production summaries.
- Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
- Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
- Lead Incident Report Investigations and utilize CI tools to determine root cause and propose immediate and preventative corrective actions.
- Support Continuous Improvement efforts in the form of participation, making employees available for participation, and auditing and sustaining the improvements made as a result of all CI initiatives.
- Maintain food safety culture in regards to food defense, quality and cGMPs for production and warehousing of products.
- Other duties as assigned.
- This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education preferred
- Five or more years of relevant manufacturing experience (food manufacturing preferred)
- Five or more years of supervisory or leadership experience is preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong computer skills
- Experience in writing procedures, instructions and/or processes
- Demonstrated ability to develop and manage direct reports
- Strong organizational skills, including attention to detail and prioritization to achieve results

Job Description
The Production Supervisor oversees all aspects of the manufacturing of products in the Food Solutions Division. The Supervisor is responsible for organizing and monitoring workflow on the second shift of production, developing cost effective processes and reducing waste while also increasing productivity and employee satisfaction. Troubleshoot processes, provide on-going training to all production personnel, and ensure the safety of workers in the organization by following safety policy compliance for the departments.This is a full-time, benefits eligible position - Monday-Friday 1:00pm - 9:30pmEssential Duties and Responsibilities:The Supervisor is responsible for production scheduling and clearly communicating this schedule to all shifts. This includes setting work schedules and hiring employees to meet production goals. The supervisor develops training schedules for new employees and evaluates the performance of the workers. Work scheduling also includes placing employees in appropriate positions to increase productivity. Supervisors also maintain records for employees such as attendance and performance evaluations. The supervisor implements continuous improvement activity to reduce scrap and increase productivity. This individual will lead the team in applying Good Manufacturing Practices for safe food and feed. They will set the example by following processes and abiding by all safety policies. They are expected to ask questions when the process is unclear or results are in question.
