    Exciting Opportunity as a Gift Planning Fellow!

    If you have an interest in higher education fundraising, this is the perfect role for you! We are looking for individuals to take part in a twelve-to-eighteen-month job training and professional development program. This program aims to kickstart careers in frontline fundraising or gift planning at the University of Illinois System's campuses in Champaign-Urbana, Chicago, and Springfield. As a Gift Planning Fellow, you will be a full-time member of the University of Illinois Foundation team, specifically in the Office of Gift Planning and Trust Services (GPTS). You will receive a salary and benefits during the program and be involved in the CASE Graduate Trainee Program, which offers online education, mentorship, and conference experiences. Additionally, you will collaborate with the Planned Giving Initiative (PGI), Norfolk State University (NSU), and Delaware State University (DSU).     This position is based in Champaign, Illinois, with some travel required.

    JOB DUTIES:

    • Develop and maintain knowledge on fundraising practices, tax laws, and industry best practices.
    • Assist in creating donor proposals and acknowledgements, and communicate effectively with donors and gift officers.
    • Collaborate with colleagues and donors to enhance fundraising efforts.
    • Identify new methods for engaging and stewarding prospects.
    • Contribute to special projects for the Office of Gift Planning and Trust Services.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree (to be completed by June 2024)
    • Experience in relationship building and team collaboration
    • Passion for higher education advancement
    • Strong integrity and commitment to confidentiality
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Analytical mindset with attention to detail
    • Results-oriented and capable of managing multiple projects
    • Embody UIF's Culture Code in all interactions

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field
    • Experience in advancement, accounting, or data management
