The Youth Activities Director is responsible for developing, implementing, managing and directing programs and events for children of members and guests.
They will manage and supervise department staff, delivery of services, budget administration, and ensure safety practices, policies and procedures are adhered to.
The Youth Activities Director will work with club staff to plan and evaluate ongoing services, programs and classes. Serve as point of contact for youth programming participants and their legal guardians/parents; also includes facilitating internal/external communications. Assist staff in the preparation and coordination of youth-related special events. Provide detailed descriptions promoting services, as well as programs, classes. etc.Provide accurate, appropriate, and immediate responses to all requests by members, ensuring complete member/guest satisfaction. Regularly attend, participate in, and support training and staff meetings for the department. Hire, train, and supervise staff. Attend staff meetings.
In addition to overseeing all youth activities, and child care, the Youth Activities Director has the option to oversee our summer camp program, as well.
Summer Camp:
(Mid-May, June & July) Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm are required to lead and work directly with our Summer Camp staff, in addition to leading, creating and implementing programs for all youth activities and child care.
The Youth Activities Director may be needed to work in childcare from 8am - 12pm Monday - Saturday and/or sub on Fridays and Saturdays from - 9pm.
*Perk: Employees working the morning child care shifts, may bring their own children, ages 3 months - 5 years, at no additional cost.
Pay rate range:
$16-$18/hour
Perform other duties as assigned.
Must be local - living within the Indianapolis or Hamilton County area.

Must have 3 years preschool or early childhood education experience
5 years of management or supervisor experience overseeing child care staff, youth activities staff, and or camp counselors
Must possess CPR/AED and First Aid certification
Experience supervising and working directly with child care staff, youth activities staff, and or camp counselors
Experience with creating, promoting and possibly teaching children's activities, classes and events
Possesses a love and passion for working with children
Possesses energy, patience and tolerance for working with youth
The ability to be flexible and be a team player
Have an outgoing and engaging personality
Provide excellent customer service to members
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Have great problem solving skills (active listening, decision making, research, etc.)
Possesses a tenacious work ethic
Physical Demands:
Standing/walking for long periods of time while supervising children
Reaching, lifting, balancing, etc. while setting up or cleaning up various related areas
Extensive physical movement while supervising or participating in activities with the children
