    About the Position
    The Jr. IT System Administrator is a full-time position responsible for providing end-user and system maintenance support for our customers and employees. A successful candidate must demonstrate ability to maintain user uptime while improving their computing experiences, problem identification and resolution activities. This position will provide support to employees who work both on-site and remotely.

    Essential Position Responsibilities

    • Manage and support desktop operating systems.
    • Manage Active Directory users, group policy objects, DNS, DHCP, etc.
    • Implement IT and corporate improvement projects.
    • Security checks and security management.
    • Manage core network components.
    • Maintain standards and documentation on an ongoing basis.
    • Set up administrator and service accounts, maintain system documentation, tune system performance and install software on servers and workstations.
    • Implement approved system security policies to include the configuration of user access and permission across a variety of systems.
    • Support a VMware virtual server environment.
    • Support Windows, Mac, and iOS systems, applying system updates, conducting regular vulnerability scans and troubleshooting any issues that arise.
    • Troubleshoot issues with server and desktop-based applications.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Education and Experience

    • 1-2 years of experience with networking and Active Directory and/or IT network Certifications.
    • Some experience in desktop administration and IT support.
    • Understanding or ability to learn Microsoft Windows Server products, Google, MS365, Firewalls and Networking, Public DNS, certificates, backup systems, email systems, virus protection, desktop operating systems, contact management and similar technology.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) suite and administrative tools.
    • Knowledge of basic TCP/IP networking and common services/protocols including basic routing/switching concepts, DNS, DHCP, HTTP(s).

    Qualifications

    • Strong troubleshooting abilities for systems and networking, including understanding log file output and interpreting/analyzing end user descriptions of problems.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve independently and collaboratively.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to remain organized.
    • Ability to run and terminate ethernet cabling.
    • User Administration with a basic level of user management including configuring new accounts, password resets and troubleshooting user login, profile and permission issues.
    • Good understanding and demonstration of customer service skills.
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
    • Availability to work a flexible schedule as needed.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
