    Position: Concessions Bartender 1

    Department: Food and Beverage

    Job Summary: Provides beverage service to guests in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner displaying a high standard of guest service.

    Duties and Responsibilities (specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to):

    1. Offers warm and sincere welcome/farewell to guests using a guest's name, when possible, and making good eye contact.
    2. Communicates with guests using clear and enthusiastic words, tone, and body language at all times.
    3. Makes guests feel appreciated through actions; offers assistance before it is requested.
    4. Serves beer and non-alcoholic drinks to guests.
    5. Rings drink orders into point-of-sale system immediately, collecting money for drinks served, and making change.
    6. Works with others to keep all areas cleaned and stocked in accord with departmental standards at all times.
    7. Teams with others to maintain an effective atmosphere and an efficient beverage service.
    8. Ensures cleanliness of the concessions area.
    9. Complies with state alcohol server requirements.
    10. Follows established safety and security policies and procedures including reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions immediately to a supervisor.
    11. Ensures personal appearance is clean and professional.
    12. Resolves guest complaints in a diplomatic and level headed manner quickly, professionally, and effectively.
    13. Requests supervisor assistance when needed for an uncooperative guest or when unable to fulfill a request.
    14. Demonstrates positive, interpersonal skills with guests and team members.
    15. Functions as a supportive team member during shifts.
    16. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.


    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    1. Knowledge of applicable health standards and workplace safety procedures.
    2. Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations as well as the Tribal Enterprise Division's internal controls, policies, and procedures.
    3. Organizational, planning, and time management skills.
    4. Effective communication skills.
    5. Skill in working courteously with the public as well as developing and maintaining strong working relationships.
    6. Ability to learn to operate a point-of-sale system.
    7. Ability to work effectively in a team environment with minimal supervision.
    8. Ability to cheerfully handle stress in a fast paced environment.
    9. Ability to effectively multitask.
    10. Ability to perform mathematical computations pertaining to the position.
    11. Ability to maintain the physical stamina required, including an ability to stand for long periods.
    12. Ability to lift up to twenty (20) pounds, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
    13. Ability to work in a smoking environment.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    1. Must be 19 years of age.
    2. Must either possess or obtain a valid Alcohol Awareness card within three (3) months of employment.
    3. Must be able to work special events at AVA.
    4. Must be able to work in a smoking environment.
    5. Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
    6. Must be able to obtain, maintain, and retain a valid non-gaming license.


    Preferred Qualifications:

    1. Bartending, guest service, and money handling experience.
    2. Bilingual (English/Spanish)
