    We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Estimator in College Point, NY.

    The Senior Estimator is responsible for the coordination of bid documents, labor productions, subcontractors, vendor pricing, subcontractor and vendor buyouts, project start-up meetings, owner estimates, subcontractors and vendor requisitions and cost to completes.

    ResponsibilitiesThoroughly investigates the specifications, scope of work and drawings for his/her portion of a bid and develops a complete understanding of project requirementsAccurately and timely performs takeoffs and calculations and analyzes data for assigned scope of workConducts field visits to gather relevant data on project site conditions, verify production rates and learn new construction techniques.

    Adjusts bid methods and incorporate this information accordingly during the bidding processNegotiate with vendors and subcontractors on the best deal, quality, and delivery using the company buyout procedure Develop pricing strategies for assigned scopes and price the bidServe as Lead Estimator, leading project bids with responsibility for all project price and document submittalsDemonstrates comprehensive understanding of the contract documents and the potential risks for a projectMakes decisions on mitigation and price risksInterfaces extensively with the Contracts department to address any risks or issues with the contractCoordinate with Business Development, Engineering and Operations teams to determine final bid price and construction methodologyDrafts proposals per RFP specifications with detailed pricing and clarificationsInstruct junior estimators to perform supporting task for each bidManage relationships with client engineers during projectManage relationships with contracted designer on design-build projects Coordinate and determine requests given technical parametersQualifications7+ years of estimating experienceBachelors degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, architecture, etc.

    Has experience in performing take-off, pricing, and communicating with subcontractorsExcellent teamwork, communication, and people skills a mustHas a solid time management system and demonstrates excellent organizational skillsTrack record of achievement and career progressionExperience in Primavera, HCSS, On Screen Takeoff (OST) and AGTEK would be advantageousLocal agency experienceAdditional Benefits offered by
