    Surgical Nursing Expertise

    The ideal candidate will possess experience in ensuring surgical room sterility and safety, coordinating team communication, and adapting plans during surgery to optimize patient outcomes.

    Responsibilities

    • Maintain a sterile field throughout the procedure, ensuring surgical room sterility and safety.
    • Coordinate team communication, use equipment as needed, and contact other providers when necessary.
    • Prepare patients and operating rooms before surgery, addressing concerns with physicians.
    • Adapt plans during surgery to optimize patient outcomes, collaborating with healthcare professionals, directing staff, and overseeing operating room activities.
    • Handle specimens and ensure proper documentation.

    Qualifications

    • Graduation from an accredited nursing school AND one (1) year of recent full-time experience in a perioperative setting.
    • Current, valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of California.
    • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification by the first day of employment.
    • Ability to take after-hour calls and weekend calls.
    • Preferred certifications include Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Certified Nurse, Operating Room (CNOR), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and Tier 2 trauma center experience.
