    Primary ResponsibilitiesIn the role of Associate Workplace Principal , you will help guide the overall direction of the Workplace Design group in the local region and be part of the Workplace team across HDR.The Associate Workplace Principal contributes to the creative leadership with a strong sense of design and a commensurate portfolio.

    S/he sets the strategy, planning and design vision for the Workplace projects regionally across HDR and will collaborate and contribute to the design leadership of the local Interiors studio in alignment with firm-wide design goals and the vision set by the Director of Workplace Design.

    Responsibilities of an Associate Workplace Principal include delivering great work, developing professional networks, growing your craft, and aspiring to the role of a Workplace Principal within our practice.

    The role includes a variety of duties ranging from engaging in business development, leading pursuits, and directing project teams.

    Critical to this role is a commitment to developing and nurturing strong client relationships, beginning with pre-positioning activities, visioning, strategy, planning and continuing through project execution.


    Leadership Responsibilities:


    In coordination with the Director of Workplace Design, contribute to the leadership and visioning for the Workplace group in the local area / region.

    As part of a collaborative global practice, collaborate with the Interior Design Directors and Interior Design Principals, engage with local market sector leadership, and draw upon the expertise of multiple disciplines; leverage the firm's research, knowledge, and technical resources to deliver innovative and creative design solutions.

    Participate and contribute to qualifications, proposals, interviews and business development for Workplace clients / pursuits. Contribute to or lead interview strategies.

    Learn / lead internal HDR marketing processes, help advance relationships across the business groups within HDR.Maintain project engagement throughout all phases of the project, including conformance to client expectations for technical/quality and project performance.

    Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to design staff and project teams.

    Contribute to / develop abstracts and presentations for industry conferences, seminars, workshops, and other similar events promoting sector messages, research, project outcomes, lessons learned, trends, etc.

    Actively cultivate of a network of industry partners for intelligence gathering and strategic development.

    Regular engagement in local relevant industry organizationsTechnical capabilities:

    The Associate Workplace Principal should be able to leverage technology to present and document their ideas, and to gather and present client data.

    The ability to produce presentation materials and workshop content is an important component of this position.

    Therefore, a working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp/ Rhino (or similar), the Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office suite is required.


    QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
