- Must hold an active Secret clearance prior to start
- Lead the analyses and design of the organization's network and mission architecture.
- Develop and sustain optimal site network designs to drive standardization across the Program.
- Provide circuit engineering designs for each agency site that accommodates all user applications identified by the customer(s)into consideration.
- Design solutions, integrate, configure, deploy, test and provide ongoing life cycle architectural support for numerous types of network devices, interfaces and methodologies.
- Review test plans to ensure that all steps have been completed and all requirements have been met before approving test plans for execution
- Communicate with team members such as project managers, migration team, operations and others regarding on-going project status, issues, or concerns
- Conduct research on new technologies to determine their application in future projects
- Design specific network solutions to support server requirements to include load-balancing, VPN's, firewall contexts, Traffic Shaping, Voice over IP (VoIP), GRE Tunneling, IP Security (IPSec), CSfC solutions, Software Defined WAN (SD-Wan), and IPv4/IPv6 that fit within the Enterprise Architectural framework.
- Train fellow employees in security awareness and procedures.
- Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of relevant experience; additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
- Must have a DoD IAT Level II certification (Sec+), or higher, prior to start.
- Proficiency with Juniper IOS or other IP/transport specific management tools (EMS) and general practices
- Expert Knowledge of IP principles.
- Understand the following protocols at minimum: IPSec, OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP.
- Proficiency in at least two or more of the following devices: Cisco VPN 3060, Cisco routers (2600, 3640 and 7200) and Cisco switches (3550, 3560, 3750 and 6500), Juniper routers, Windows XP, NT, and 2000, NSA Certified Type-1 Encryptors Juniper MX5 routers, Juniper SRX firewalls, Juniper EX switches, SBCs, and KG175.
