- Under the supervision of an experienced Electronics Technician Leader, assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of highly technical and/or specialized electronic equipment and their connectors/links to systems.
- Assist with the analysis, diagnosis and repair of malfunctions and other problems with electronic equipment using schematic drawings and equipment prints.
- Perform preventative maintenance of electronic equipment to ensure necessary inspection, adjustment, and replacement of parts are made to prevent malfunctions or safety hazards from occurring.
- Perform physical/manual tasks to prepare work sites/stations for installation and maintenance of electronic equipment using various types of equipment such as small hand tools, fabrication machinery, portable power generators, ditching equipment, or bucket trucks.
- Basic to intermediate computer skills including the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Basic electrical knowledge.
- Basic IP networking knowledge.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

The Nebraska Department of Transportation's Electronics Technician Internship is an opportunity for students currently enrolled in an electronics technology focused associate degree program to gain valuable work experience while completing their education.

Job Duties:
REQUIREMENTS:
Post high school coursework, training, or experience in the installation, maintenance, or repair of radios, electronic devices/instruments, computer equipment, or other similar hardware and circuitry.
PREFERRED:
One year of coursework completed in an electronics technology program.
OTHER:
Must be enrolled in an electronics technology program. Must have a valid driver's license or be able to provide authorized independent transportation. Regular and reliable attendance is also required.
